About Us
EPCO Home Improvement and Handyman Services is a locally owned and operated home services company started in 2020 and located in the Northern Virginia (Annandale) suburbs of Washington, DC.
EPCO was founded by David Epperly after a more than three decade career working as an entrepreneur and for leading firms in the high tech industry where he led the delivery of multi-million dollar software and business improvement projects for corporate and government clients in the US and around the globe.
David's decision to transition from high tech to a 'second act' career in home improvement was driven by a variety of factors including a desire to spend more time with his family, a global pandemic, etc., but primarily because of lifelong interest in building and fixing things. This began in his hometown of Roanoke, Virginia where he worked in his family's home improvement business, as well as summer construction jobs during high school and college.
He continued on this path throughout adulthood developing into a skilled handyman and consummate DIYer (Do It Yourselfer) by completing numerous large and small home renovations, improvement and repair projects in the homes he's owned and those of family and friends. David has continuously improved his skills and knowledge throughout the years by self study and by taking several courses on various construction and home repair related topics.
The high demand for such skills and services in recent years convinced David to turn his passion and favorite pastime into a business, which led him to start EPCO.
David has lived in Northern Virginia for the past 37 years where he resides with his wife and four children. He's an active member of his church and various organizations through which he has volunteered his time and talents to numerous community activities and causes over the years.
